Sales1. What is it like working in sales in the UK as a French-speaking professional?
Working in sales in the UK as a French speaker serving the French market is both challenging and deeply rewarding. You’re based in a different cultural context, but you’re building relationships with French clients, so you develop a unique dual perspective.
It requires adaptability: navigating UK business culture while remaining closely connected to the needs and expectations of French clients. But that’s where the strength lies. You become a real bridge, between teams, between countries, and between ways of working.
You have to work hard to prove your value across both cultures, but every success feels twice as meaningful. It’s a role that pushes you to grow fast, both personally and professionally.
2. What advice would you give to other women considering a sales role here?
First and foremost: be consistent. Success doesn’t come overnight, it comes from showing up every day, staying focused, and being reliable. Clients remember people they can count on.
Second: never take a “no” as a definitive answer. In sales, rejection is part of the game, but persistence is often what changes a “no” into a “yes.”
Third: truly care. Take the time to understand your clients’ pain points and challenges and show them how you can help. Sales isn’t about pushing, it's about partnering.
As a woman, you might sometimes feel pressure to prove yourself but remember that emotional intelligence, empathy, and active listening are incredible assets. They help build deep, meaningful client relationships. And don’t be afraid to be visible. By sharing your voice, you inspire others to do the same. You’re not just succeeding for yourself, you’re showing what’s possible.
3. What do you enjoy most about your role and the company culture?
What I love most is the sense of family we’ve built within the French team. We work hard, but we do it together. There’s a strong sense of support, collaboration, and shared success that makes even the most intense days enjoyable.
More broadly, the company culture values effort and celebrates growth. There’s space to be ambitious without sacrificing who you are. As a hardworking woman, that balance is incredibly meaningful, you’re trusted to perform, and empowered to lead.
