  • I started at CloserStill Media in August 2017, I had graduated the previous month and didn't have a particular career or industry in mind. Therefore, I was conscious about getting experience as soon as possible to give me exposure to the workplace, and skills to enable me to find roles in future once I had a clearer idea of what I wanted to pursue. Little did I know, I found a product, industry and role that suited me really well and, seven years later, I'm still part of CloserStill. On the day of my interview, I sat in the waiting area of the sales floor at the time, the room was buzzing with so many conversations going on, and there was a lot of energy in the room. I was originally recruited to work in the telemarking team as a delegate relationship manager on the Pharmacy Show, inviting pharmacists to attend the event. After 9 weeks in the telemarketing team, I was offered the opportunity to interview for a sales executive role on eCommerce Expo. Over the last 7 years, time and energy has been invested in my sales ability and industry knowledge, by myself, my manager and the business. I have had opportunities to develop and progress which has allowed me to broaden my scope of understanding and responsibility within my role. This evolution and the promotions along the way is one of the reasons I am with CloserStill today. CloserStill itself has evolved hugely since I started, but that entrepreneurial spirit is ingrained in the culture. Whilst I’ve been here quite a long time in relation to the average in the job market, I still see myself as having a lot of opportunities to learn and be involved in initiatives within CloserStill that will only bolster me for the future."

  • I started in July 2011. I interviewed with one of the founders (Phil Nelson) and his passion and vision was what made me want to work at CloserStill. From the day I started it was all systems go and the opportunity to learn, grow, earn money and get promoted has been crystal clear. My first impressions of CloserStill were that everyone looked like they knew the value of hard work. The culture and environment was supportive and you had a feeling that their was a clear direction. I started out in telemarketing and earned my stripes calling visitors. This helped build my commercial foundation and learn the recipe for success in sales. I was promoted on to The Pharmacy Show within two months as a Sales Executive. Within 6 years I was made the Director of the event. The most rewarding thing is that you are learning every day and get to collaborate with amazing colleagues from different departments. Sales is the backbone of this company and you can apply your skills from sales to all aspects of business.

  • I started at CloserStill Media in January 2018 and haven’t looked back. I iwanted to work here because I’d witnessed first-hand the incredible atmosphere and excitement that was generated at a CloserStill event when I visited London Vet Show in 2017. It was my first 9-5 job after I finished university, so my initial impression was actually that everybody was a lot more friendly and welcoming than I was anticipating. I thought that the corporate world was going to be full of frowning, aggressive suits and it turned out to be a fantastic atmosphere. I worked initially in telemarketing on Data Centre World, and I became hooked on the idea of beating the number of delegates I registered from the day before. After a few months I was promoted as a Sales Executive. This brought a new sense of challenge and the feeling of achievement when weeks of hard work paid off in a signed contract is so hard to match. I’ve been here ever since for two reasons: one is when you work hard, you see results and you can progress. But the main reason I’ve stayed is that the people and the atmosphere of the company make it somewhere that I genuinely enjoy coming to every day.
