WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are looking for a Delivery Lead to ensure that the organisation's priority technology workstreams move from intent to measurable outcomes with pace and transparency. Working across Technology and its business partners, the role creates the delivery environment in which teams can align on outcomes, make timely decisions, manage dependencies and resolve impediments quickly.
The role leads a small team of Delivery Managers and Business Analysts, setting consistent standards for delivery governance, status reporting, requirements practice and stakeholder engagement. It is accountable for the quality of the delivery system and the accuracy of the portfolio workstream view.
THE ROLE:
Lead Cross-Functional Delivery
Facilitate the end-to-end delivery of priority technology workstreams, from discovery and mobilisation through implementation, transition and benefits review.
Bring together Technology, Product, Data, Security, Operations, Finance, Procurement and business stakeholders to agree outcomes, scope, delivery approach, milestones, responsibilities and decision points.
Maintain integrated plans that expose cross-team dependencies, constraints, critical paths and resource conflicts.
Create effective delivery cadences, including planning, stand-ups, reviews, decision forums and retrospectives, tailoring the approach to the work rather than applying process mechanically.
Keep delivery focused on outcomes and value, challenging unclear scope, weak ownership, unrealistic dates and activity that is not connected to an agreed objective.
Provide Clear Reporting
Produce concise, evidence-based status reporting for technology leadership, covering progress, forecast, milestones, dependencies, decisions and confidence level.
Establish a consistent reporting framework and a reliable single view of delivery across the assigned portfolio, proportionate to the scale and risk of each workstream.
Surface delivery risks, issues and blockers early; clarify impact, owner, mitigation, decision required and escalation route.
Track actions and decisions to closure, ensuring that unresolved items are visible and escalated at the right level and time.
Strengthen Requirements and Analysis
Use delivery data and trends to identify systemic constraints, improve forecasting and support prioritisation and capacity decisions.
Lead and Improve the Technology Delivery System
Provide clear direction, priorities and performance expectations for Delivery Managers and Business Analysts.
Coach the team in facilitation, planning, analysis, stakeholder management, risk management, communication and constructive challenge.
Build a collaborative community of practice with shared methods, templates and quality standards while preserving flexibility in how teams deliver.
Identify recurring friction in governance, decision-making, hand-offs, environments, procurement, resourcing and assurance, and work with accountable leaders to remove it.
Promote learning through retrospectives, delivery health reviews and the practical reuse of lessons across workstreams.
Champion inclusive, transparent ways of working that build trust across professional and organisational boundaries.
ABOUT YOU:
Substantial experience leading complex technology delivery across multiple functions, teams and dependencies.
Proven people leadership experience, including leading and developing Delivery Managers, Project Managers and/or Business Analysts.
Strong command of delivery planning, governance, risk and issue management, dependency management, financial awareness and senior-level reporting.
Demonstrable experience of business analysis and requirements management, including translating ambiguous needs into clear, testable outcomes and acceptance criteria.
A track record of influencing senior stakeholders, facilitating difficult conversations and securing timely decisions.
Ability to interpret delivery data, test assumptions and communicate a balanced, candid view of progress and forecast confidence.
Sound understanding of the technology delivery lifecycle, including architecture, engineering, testing, security, data, release, service transition and adoption.
Familiar with agile ways of working.
