Can you cut through the fluff to find the real news value in a press release? Are you confident in picking up the phone or hosting a Teams call to conduct interviews and make the story your own? Do you want the opportunity to write your own features and travel internationally?
We’re seeking a talented Website Editor to source and write informative industry news and original, engaging features for digital publication across a range of magazine websites focused on various aspects of the automotive sector. These include powertrain development, safety testing, motorsport technology, car interiors, tyre design and the latest advances in self-driving vehicles. You'll also have the chance to attend our events, where you'll gather live news and conduct video interviews.
UKi Media & Events is an international specialist event organiser and publishing company based in Dorking, Surrey, UK. Our success is driven by a team of more than 90 talented individuals dedicated to delivering world-class events and publications. We are proud to publish 13 magazines that serve the automotive, aerospace, marine, meteorological and logistics sectors. Our new offices in central Dorking offer an engaging and collaborative work environment.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Content Creator: Drafting compelling news copy and feature content, commissioning opinion articles and exclusive features, writing social media posts (to promote website content) and conducting interviews with leading suppliers.
• News sourcing: Tracking news sites, newswires, social media, etc for relevant press releases and breaking stories; building connections with media teams/PR agencies and attending third-party media events.
• Research and analysis: Regular tracking of the most popular content and keywords using Google Analytics.
• Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional teams, including event marketing, sales, operations and design, to ensure alignment and synergy in marketing efforts and commercial performance.
• Event support: Attend shows to conduct live interviews, write live show news and support live
THE ROLE:
· The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day content management of six websites: ADAS & Autonomous Vehicle International, Automotive Testing Technology International, Automotive Interiors International, Automotive Powertrain Technology International, Professional Motorsport World and Tire Technology International. - Write and post daily news.
- Commission opinion pieces and post relevant video content.
- Write your own features.
ABOUT YOU:
• Keen attention to detail in all aspects of work, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all published content, according to house style.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to create compelling content and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• A collaborative approach to work, thriving in a team environment and building strong relationships with colleagues and partners.
• Exceptional organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and stay focused under pressure, maintaining a positive attitude and high performance.
• A proactive attitude with the ability to take initiative and work independently, driving projects forward without constant supervision.
• Proficiency with WordPress, InDesign, Google Analytics and Microsoft Word, and a willingness to learn and adopt new technologies and platforms.
