Hi, I am Joe! I have been at CSM for just over 6 years. I started my career here at the entry-level role within the department that I now head up. This, for me, is a very important thing to highlight as CSM prides itself on its culture of promoting from within. In my 6 years here I have not only been given the opportunities to progress and better myself, I have also seen many, many others afforded the same. My role as Head of the Telemarketing & Graduate Programme blends a few different areas. I am responsible for overseeing a team whose primary job is attracting delegates to our portfolio of free-to-attend events. Within this, I need to make sure that the team is well-equipped and motivated to complete this task on a day-to-day basis. As an extension of this, I am often giving employees their first real taste of the corporate world meaning I need to coach them through this experience. This is all done with the idea that members of my team will swiftly move on to be promoted elsewhere in the business. Every summer I also run our Graduate Programme. A two-month crash course on the world of events. Three years into its existence it has already proven to be highly successful with 25 graduates securing a permanent role with us. The Graduate Programme is all about unearthing the next generation of talent within the events industry.
