 WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We are on the lookout for an astute Event Tech Manager to join our Digital Department. Reporting to the Group Digital Lead, this role is crucial in steering our event technology strategy, management, and optimisation across all our portfolios which is made up of Business Technologies, Healthcare, and Future Transport & Infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with Portfolio Directors, Operations Teams, Marketing Teams, and the Data Team. This role provides an exciting opportunity for someone who is commercially minded and has a strong background in events, preferably in the exhibition space.

You will be located in our London, with the possibility of international travel to our events, as and when required.
 

THE ROLE:

1. Event Tech Oversight: Manage and maintain existing event technology solutions across various portfolios, ensuring they align with our digital strategy.

2. Supplier Relations: Research and onboard new suppliers, providing insights and recommendations to internal teams for event technology decisions.

3. Commercial Opportunities: Actively seek ways to commercialise our event technology through the creation of sponsorship opportunities.

4. Strategy Development: Work alongside the Group Digital Lead and Portfolio Directors to develop a strategic roadmap for our event technology initiatives.

5. Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Operations, Marketing, and Data Teams to drive technology solutions that add value to our events and engage our audiences. Assist the Head of Data in onboarding new and existing registration vendors.

6. Performance Analysis: Conduct regular audits and analysis of event technology, sharing insights and suggestions for improvements.

7. Budget Management: Manage the budget for event technology, ensuring optimal ROI and cost-effectiveness.

8. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all event technology solutions comply with applicable data protection and governance policies.

9. Vendor Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with technology vendors, ensuring contractual commitments are met and optimising value.

10. Training and Upskilling: Lead workshops and training sessions on event technology best practices, ensuring consistent competency across the business.

11. Data Integration: Liaise with the data team to ensure that event tech data is accurately captured and integrated into our broader data infrastructure.

12. Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in event technology, and apply this knowledge to our strategic approach.

ABOUT YOU:

1. Substantial experience in event management, ideally within the exhibition space.

2. Commercially minded with a proven track record of generating revenue through event technology.

3. Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

4. Strong skills in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.

5. Proficient in data analysis and interpretation.

6. Willingness to continuously upskill and stay updated on industry trends.

7. Experience with common event technology platforms and tools.

 8.Strong budget management skills, with an eye for optimising ROI
